Historic Oman
Oman is traditionally an Arab country, with the majority of its population being Muslim. Thanks to its location on the Gulf of Oman, the country has a long history of trade with Africa and Asia. Using traditional wooden sailing vessels, known as dhows, Oman’s traders crossed the oceans. The influences of this rich trading history can be seen in the country’s diverse and delicious cuisine, its cultural heritage, and in the character of the Omani people. Many speak multiple languages and are known for their tolerance and openness towards other cultures.
