Itinerary
Day 1 – Amsterdam to Muscat
Depart in the evening from Amsterdam on a direct flight to Muscat. You’ll arrive early in the morning, ready for your first encounter with Oman.
Day 2 – Arrival and first impressions of Muscat
After arrival, pick up your rental car and drive to your hotel in the old town. The rest of the day is free. Stroll along the harbor, wander through the souq, and unwind at your own pace.

Day 3 – Exploring Muscat
Today, discover the white capital. Must-sees include:

Day 4 – Hiking in Wadi Shabb
Spend a day in one of Oman’s most beautiful wadis. Walk among palm trees, flowing streams, and turquoise pools hidden between high rock walls. Bring sturdy shoes, water, and swimwear if you wish.
Overnight: Tiwi Sunrise Hotel, Tiwi
Day 5 – Sur and the desert
In the morning, visit Sur, famous for building traditional dhows. Around midday, leave your car in Al Wasil and transfer by 4x4 to your desert camp. The evening is magical: sunset, silence, and stars.

Day 6 – Across Ages Museum and Nizwa
Visit the surprisingly modern and impressive museum that brings Oman’s history and culture to life. Then drive on to the charming city of Nizwa. In the afternoon, explore the souq and the fort.
Overnight: Ihyaa Inn, Nizwa
Day 7 – Jebel Shams and the Balcony Walk
Visit the traditional Bait Al Safah in Al Hamra, leave your car there, and get picked up for the drive to Jebel Shams.
In the late afternoon, hike the famous Balcony Walk along the edge of Oman’s Grand Canyon – an unforgettable view.
Overnight: Jebel Shams Resort
Day 8 – Return to Muscat and departure
Early in the morning, descend from the mountain, collect your rental car, and drive to the airport.
In the afternoon, fly back to Amsterdam with a head full of new stories.
