This itinerary has been specially designed for families and teens, with a wide range of activities and a well-balanced mix of culture, nature, and adventure.

The trip can be done either with your own car or with a driver and guide.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Amsterdam-Muscat

Depart in the evening from Amsterdam to Muscat. After approximately 7 hours of flying, you’ll arrive early in the morning.

Day 2 – Muscat and snorkeling Excursion

Arrival in Muscat. Pick up your rental car or transfer with a driver to the hotel. Around 1:00 PM, depart for a snorkeling excursion to the Daymaniyat Islands, where you’ll encounter colorful fish, coral, and turtles in the warm waters.

Overnight: Ramee Guestline Hotel

Day 3 – Citytour Muscat

City tour of Muscat, visiting:

  • Sultan Qaboos Mosque

  • Opera House

  • Muttrah Souq

  • National Museum

  • Sultan’s Palace and Portuguese forts

 

Overnight: Ramee Guestline Hotel

Day 4 – Qantab and wakeboarding

Boat trip through the famous Qantab Bay, followed by wakeboarding in clear waters. End the day with a short walk on a nearby island at sunset.

Day 5 – Canyoning in Wadi Mibam and Tiwi Beach

Early departure to Wadi Mibam. Receive your gear and enjoy swimming, climbing, and abseiling. Afterwards, drive to Tiwi Beach and stay overnight in a seaside caravan or tent. Canyoning level: easy, approx. 4 hours

Overnight: Tiwi Beach, Kyan Caravan

 

Day 6 – Sur and Al Sharquia Desert

Visit Sur, including the Dhow Museum and a Dhow boat cruise. Then drive to the vast Al Sharquia Desert, with a sunset and dinner by the campfire.

Overnight: Camping at Sama Al Wasil Desert Lodge

Day 7 – Hot Air Balloon and Jebel Al Akhdar

Early morning hot air balloon ride at sunrise over the desert. Then head to Jebel Al Akhdar, with photo stops at Birkat Al Mouz and Falaj Al Khadmin. On the mountain, enjoy the Three Villages Walk through characteristic villages and green valleys.

Overnight: Hanging Terraces Lodge

Day 8 – Nizwa and Across Ages Museum

Visit the Across Ages Museum in Nizwa. Afternoon free to explore the town and visit Nizwa Fort.

Overnight: Al Bustan Inn, Nizwa

Day 9 – Nizwa Livestock Market and Balcony Walk

Early visit to the Nizwa livestock market. Then drive to Jebel Shams for the stunning Balcony Walk along the edge of Oman’s Grand Canyon. Walk distance: 6 km, 3–4 hours

 

Overnight: Jebel Shams Resort

Day 10 – Jebel Shams to Muscat via Hat route

Drive through the Hajar Mountains, off-road via the Hat Route back to Muscat (weather permitting). Optional photo stop at Snake Canyon and visit Wakan Village.

Overnight: Golden Tulip Hotel, Muscat

Day 11 – Muscat-AmsterdamEnd of the tour. Transfer to the airport and fly back to Amsterdam, arriving around 6:30 PM.
